On August 17, Cureo was formally announced as a leading sponsor of GAgives, in partnership with Georgia Center for Nonprofits.

GAgives is Georgia’s version of #GivingTuesday. #GivingTuesday takes place on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (November 27th) and kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. #GivingTuesday was started as an initiative in 2012 and it has grown to 100+ communities in the U.S. and 150+ countries worldwide. It demonstrates the power of social media and collaboration. Last year, over $300 million was raised online!

Since 2012, GAgives has grown donation totals year over year to help raise more than $20.4 million from 73,000 donations, all going directly to over 3,000 participating nonprofits. The purpose of GAgives on #GivingTuesday is to empower all Georgia nonprofits to increase funds, gain new supporters, and raise awareness through one 24-hour state-wide marathon of giving.

The Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) is the lead entity for GAGives. GCN is a statewide association of nonprofits in the state of Georgia, and has served as a cornerstone of support for Georgia’s nonprofit and philanthropic community by delivering a wide range of services and support. GCN helps to organize and coordinate activities of participating organization, giving them tools to have a successful Giving Tuesday, including best practices, logos, helpful tips, etc.

Our role as a sponsor is twofold. One, GCN will use our platform the manage the collaboration of hundreds of nonprofits that will be participating.  Those nonprofits will be able to easily interact with team members and access resources through their email accounts and the GAgives website. GCN staff will be have a variety of tools such as discussion boards, task management, calendars, publishing, and file sharing to ensure that they are able to stay on top of every aspect of their collaborations.

Secondly, cash prizes given out to participating organizations on #GivingTuesday will be funded from Cureo’s sponsorship. These prizes will be awarded to nonprofits with the most unique donors in a given one-hour period, the most unique donors in their GAgives campaign, and the #UNselfie contest on social media.

#GivingTuesday connects diverse groups of individuals, communities and organizations around the world for one common purpose: to celebrate and encourage giving. Sponsoring GAgives and GCN helps them magnify their impact of the thousands of nonprofits in the beautiful state of Georgia. We hope our nonprofit collaboration software empowers GAgives and the nonprofits involved to make 2018 the highest charitable year to date.

The nonprofit community in Greater Atlanta and across Georgia has shown that they are committed to collaboration as a means to better serve their community with ARCHI, GEEARS, and Beltline Project to name a few.

We are honored to be supporting this community as we help them work better, together.
